Purpose
When the NEET exams replaced various medical entrance exams in our country, the idea was to give all Indian students a uniform test to enter Indian Medical Colleges. With the NCERT book becoming the crust of NEET, a trend emerged- dissolving ideas into split sentences & gulping them for the sake of exam.
This book attempts to do away with it. This book hopes that the field of biology be re-vigoured with understanding, application and problem-solving. To imbue the principles outlined in the National Education Policy 2020, the book takes specific bold steps in that direction.
- To reduce the burden of language comprehension required to read long texts, the book uses flow charts to draw connections between concepts.
- To make learning more engaging I have tried to draw illustrations as much as possible
- To ensure that students see the world in science & not in sentences I have added stories- kahaniya to relate concepts and see the tangible steps the world is taking.
- The Evolutionary Logic boxes aim to weave the story of life as it happened instead mug up events without any context.
- Last, the book uses shorthands. It might feel cumbersome initially, but I want you to remember you are smart minds who can work their way around studying tools. I want you to absorb and be able to draft your notes, mnemonics & flash cards.
- You must be wondering why this book does not have five-year PYQs. This book is not designed to cater to one exam, rather to bring a holistic comprehension of concepts taught in the NCERT. Adding PYQs would have increased pages & made it less relevant for some exams, whereas deemed necessary for others. However, like everyone & life itself I intend to evolve this book based on what science and students believe could help the process.
